Training

The staff at Manuel Campos performance horses offer training and lesson programs for riders of all ages and skill levels. From beginners to world show level competitors. We believe in helping our riders set and achieve their goals. We are very proud of our non pro riders. In 2007 Manuel and Lori coached 3 riders on 4 horses to the Jack and Linda Baker reining finals in California, and several of our riders have already earned qualifying points towards the 2008 finals. Manuel and client Doug Danner once again went on the road both to the appaloosa nationals and world show and had a very successful time. Additionally many of our non pro riders have won year end buckles in their first year of showing.

Born in California and raised on his family’s ranch in Mexico, Manuel combines a lifetime of vaquero traditions with the modern day training techniques of todays top reining trainers. His enthusiasm and love of the sport of reining is reflected in his commitment to help improve the communication between horse and rider both in and out of the show pen. In addition to his training program Manuel has conducted clinics throughout the US, Mexico, and Italy. His achievements in 2007 include winning:

  • The Expensive Hobby Perpetual Trophy
  • The Mac McHugh Memorial Trophy
  • The Ora C Rhodes Perpetual Trophy
  • The Del Mar National PCHA Open Reining Championship
  • The $500 NRHA Intermediate Open at the Del Mar National
